We double dare you to do a zine in 24 hours! Don’t worry if you don’t finish, at least you’ll have a solid start. There are no excuses for not trying, because we will have glue sticks, long arm staplers, scrap paper and moral support.
But you don’t even know what a zine is? Zines are a do-it-yourself publication that can be of various sizes (1/4, 1/2, full sheet), shapes (rectangular, square, irregular) and manners (political, personal, artistic). If you’ve got something to say and aren’t driven by money, zines are the medium for you!
So, come on by The Mez (389 Gregory St.) starting at midnite July 25th Saturday and running through midnite July 26th Sunday to make a zine and celebrate independent publishing. Even if you can’t stay the whole time, stop by!
There will be coffee and refreshments for sale, to keep fueling your creative engine. We are asking for a $2 donation to cover our costs for supplies, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
There will be seasoned zinesters on hand who can answer questions you may have on assembling or distributing your zine.
Please note that we will not have access to a photocopier.
You should bring scissors, pens, pencils, crayons, markers and collage-making materials (like magazines) if you’ll want them.
While other 24 Hour Zine challengers are big on rules and stipulations, we think that the most important thing is to just give it a try. So, while we encourage you to
check out the following website for more information, please do not be discouraged from attending!

Just one point to clarify: by “midnight Saturday” did you mean Friday into Saturday, as Ted transcribed as “12am Saturday” on the Facebook event, or Saturday into Sunday?
Such shows the problem with 12 hour notation.
The event goes from Saturday into Sunday. Sorry for the confusion!
